Collaborative task: 3-4 minutes

The examiner expresses an opinion on an extreme topic and the candidate must maintain and develop the conversation by asking questions.

 

(open): questions that have multiple answers

why, where, when, who, what, which, how, how often, how long, how far

How far do you believe that it is a good idea?

 

(closed): questions that have yes/no answers

Do you think you will pass the exam?

 

(short): ask for an opinion

What about you? What do you think?

 

(question tags) It is easy to learn, isn´t it?

 

(negative questions): asking for confirmation, express a polite opinion

Don´t you think we should start a different hobby?

 

(tense changes): develop the conversation by asking about different times

Did you use to do this as a child?

Do you usually take to things easily?

Are you going to try to learn a language in the future?

 

(hypothetical) conditionals and wish

Would you learn faster if you had more time to practice?

Do you wish you had started learning with us earlier?

  • Art and music should be more valued in education that mathematics or literacy as they teach you to be creative.
