How well do you understand reading part 6 of the B1 Preliminary English Exam?
From 2020 onwards, the B1 Preliminary English Exam has changed (Click on the button for details). The exam has added two new parts, one of which is an Open Cloze gaps fill section. In this part of the exam, the candidate needs to fill in the six gaps in the text with one word. In theory, this can be any word, but there is a common theme between them. The words that they are looking for are usually grammatically based, meaning, they are the small words (a, than, as, that etc) that do not really mean anything on their own.
What are the most frequent answers?
To make this exercise easier, we have attached a high frequency word list that you can download and study.
